An Online Business Manager does exactly that – Manages your online business. It’s someone who takes over the daily operations of your business, and frees up your time. This way, you have the space to grow and scale.
You, as the Visionary Leader, hire an OBM to oversee the daily operations of your biz. And make sure everything is running as it should. That everyone is doing their job to your standards and that each tiny element of your business is looked after.
Just like a restaurant owner hires a Manager, an OBM manages your daily operations. Only this time, it’s online.
An Online Business Manager manages:
- Projects
- People
- Operations
- Resources
… And basically anything else you don’t have time for!
An OBM works alongside you as the business owner.
You come to the table with the:
- “What” – what’s the vision, impact, the dream
- “Why”
- Ideas
- Strategy
- Products and services you’re wanting to sell
- And big picture vision behind it all
The OBM then comes up with the “how”.
- How are we going to implement this
- What team members do we need
- What strategies or tools do we need to build out
I (as the OBM/Integrator) work together with you (as the business owner) to make sure everything is under control. I ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly. That projects are running on track and schedule. Plus, that the team is happy.
You’re then free to fully commit to your visionary role. No more time wasted managing your team, tasks and projects. You have the space to work on higher level operations to take your business to the next level
An OBM is…
The coordinator, manager and delegator
- Up-to-date on digital marketing strategies
- Going to treat your business with respect, as if it were their own
- Proactive at identifying ways they can help you grow your business
- Responsible for the success of the team
- Continuously investing in their own development – both personally and professionally
- Behind the scenes testing, resolving any issues and ensuring everyone is following company protocol
- Self-driven and motivated by your success
- Has your vision and goals at the forefront of all work
A Virtual Assistant is…
The doer, taskmaster and superstar supporter
- Assigned specific tasks to complete and doesn’t usually go beyond that point
- Only responsible for their own work, not the greater good of the business
- Usually skilled in basic administrative and sometimes creative tasks
- Lead by you or your OBM to complete each task
- Always requires your final approval on tasks completed
- Compensated by an hourly rate
You can read about the difference between a VA and an OBM in my blog post here.
Unlike other OBMs, I come with tech-savvy insights designed to propel your business forward.
Since I’m able to set up systems and automations, many of my clients have side-stepped hiring a larger team. This has saved their businesses an awful lot of money.
I’m also experienced in managing a team and have run my own businesses too. It’s these extra skills and experiences you’ll benefit from when we work together.
- Proactive and always three steps ahead of everything
- Love being the one behind-the-scenes making it all happen
- Self-motivated
- Is resourceful
- Can handle stress and tight deadlines
- Works very well with other people and can build rapport quickly with both team members and vendors
- Has great attention to detail and brand quality
- Is not locked into just working 9-5 but embraces a “until it gets done” attitude
- Is a high-functioning communicator
- Dependably demonstrates a relentless obsession with values alignment, focus, organisation, simplicity, and clarity
- Takes ownership and pride in their work
- Is not afraid of new challenges
- Loves learning new things and can implement new ideas quickly
- Adapts really well to changes on-the-go
- Is technologically savvy
- Can handle direct & blunt feedback
- Can juggle lots of moving pieces while staying collected
An OBM is very much a big picture thinker, and usually comes on the scene when a client is mentally and emotionally ready to hand over the reins of the day-to-day management of their business.
Having an OBM in your business means you can truly step into the visionary role and focus on growing and scaling your business.
Depending on your business’s needs, your relationship with me as your OBM can be flexible.
- I can come into your team as the ‘doer.’ This means, I work with you for 60-90 days, put key processes in place and make sure each task runs smoothly. Then, I pass on the job to a VA who I train in your unique requirements. This is strictly for business owners who require repetitive, entry level tasks to be completed.
- Or, I come in as the OBM from day one. You’ve already set up efficient processes and need to hand the reins over to me. I begin managing your team, projects, tasks and more. A real life Mary Poppins, some might say 😉
- You’re not alone in your business trying to get #allthethings done
- No more stress and overwhelm
- More time with your family and friends
- Working ON your business with the vision to ultimately grow and increase sales rather than stuck working IN it
- Doing more of what you love and that makes your heart sing!
- Doing less of the stuff that doesn’t!
- Not having to get into the details
- You can close your laptop and take a break knowing that your business is taken care of
- Step into the Visionary role that you were made to do!
Depending on your business needs and what stage you are at with your business, these can include:
- Project Management:
Planning and managing a project from start to finish and making sure each piece of the puzzle fit together to schedule and on budget. - Online Launches:
Planning, setting up and managing a launch from idea to post launch. Launches can include eCourses, membership portals, podcasts, webinars, email challenges, and more! - Systems and Processes:
Establishing processes, systems and online tools to automate and streamline the day-to-day activities and workflows of your business like billing, client relationships, communication, project and task management, emails, and more! - Tech and Back-End Integrations:
Making sure that the tech of all of the behind the scenes moving parts integrate and ‘talk to each other’ seamlessly. - Daily Operations:
I’ll take care of all the day-to-day activities of running a business behind-the-scenes so that you can reap the benefits of having space from the everyday goings on of business. And experience the creative freedom you need to take your business to the next exciting level. - Community Manager:
Online setup, content input and updating, community management, student support and launch assistance. - Facebook Group Monitoring
New member management, monitoring questions and comments on the Facebook groups you manage, filtering what you need to see and answering FAQs. - Virtual Team Coordination:
Running an online business can take a team of experts all doing their thing – as your OBM, I manage this team whether it’s VAs, graphic designers, copywriters, website developers, Facebook Ad Strategist, Marketing Funnel Strategist and so on. - Metrics Management:
Tracking stats so that your know exactly what’s working in your business and what isn’t and
recommending next steps
I work with service-based Visionary Entrepreneurs who are ready to GROW + SCALE their business.
And with those who have successfully completed a 6 or 7 figure launch and are ready to do it again, but with bigger and better dreams and goals, AND with an awesome team to make it all happen!
In today’s fast-paced digital world, anything is possible. So the fact that we won’t share an office is not an issue. In fact, this makes communicating easy-peasy for us (and you won’t feel like you have to ask about my weekend every morning)! Instead of wasting time with small talk, we get tasks completed with efficiency and purpose each and every time.
We will connect via phone, Zoom, Google Hangouts and other task management software like Asana and Voxer, to name a few.
I’m based in Perth, Western Australia and I have the flexibility to work across all other time zones.
Everybody knows that communication is key for any successful working relationship. With life’s changing demands, it’s more important than ever to keep each other updated. This open communication allows us both to establish realistic expectations for tasks and working through any issues is a cinch. Unlike an employee, where task completion is limited to a roster, I’m ready to tackle your work demands as you need, in real time.
